John R. Jensen, Continued
John joined the Arlington firm of McConnell & Associates where he practiced law until he founded his private practice in 1978. John is a member of the Arlington Bar Association and the Tarrant County Bar Association. He is the author of two publications for Texas lawyers, is listed in multiple editions of “Who’s Who in American Law,” and has maintained his Board Certification in the area of Personal Injury Trial Law from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, an affiliate of the State Bar of Texas, since 1989.
Board Certification is a mark of excellence and a distinguished accomplishment. Board Certification means that an attorney has substantial, relevant experience in a select field of law as well as a demonstrated, and tested, special competence in that area of law in the Texas legal community. There are over 70,000 attorneys licensed to practice law in Texas. Only 7,000 have earned the right to be publicly recognized as Board Certified specialists. To be Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law means that a lawyer is experienced in litigation based on an individual’s injury from the negligent or intentional acts of another. Maintaining Board Certification carries with it a requirement of an enhanced number of hours and targeted subject matter of continuing legal education, and the continued endorsement of the legal and judicial community.
John’s varied legal experience includes, jury and non-jury trials at all trial court levels in the areas personal injury, family law, criminal (felony and misdemeanor), consumer, employment, civil rights, insurance, real estate, contract action, and business torts.
John has presented appeals in the Texas Courts of Appeal, Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, Supreme Court of Texas and the United States Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit. He has also had experience in administrative hearings including Social Security Administration, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Immigration and Naturalization and Texas Workers’ Compensation Commission, and the Texas Employment Commission.
His non-litigation, general office practice includes business consultation, lien perfection and collections, choice of business entity and entity formation, contracts, partnership agreements, limited partnership agreements, joint ventures, wills and estate planning documents, probate of wills, and related general law practice.
John is a member of the Lone Star Frontier Shooting Club, an organization which promotes the sport of Cowboy Action Shooting and preserves the history of the Old West by participating in local and regional matches in competitive shooting.
